Scend it Home- Spring Edition

This past weekend, Scend it Home again descended on Beyond the Crux in Kelowna. I was a little worried about this comp because the weather had been so good, and I figured we'd have a low turn-out. Luckily (or maybe not for some) the weather was sub-par on comp day and some of the wily veterans and youngsters alike showed up to throw down.

This comp was a little strange because we pre-set the problems nearly 3 weeks before the day of the comp as a result of Staci and I going on holidays for 2 weeks. So, coming back to re-set and run the problems took a little remembering on behalf of the setters. Nonetheless, we got all the problems up in our short time frame and with Jay and Meshkat helping me run problems, we were ready to roll by the time people were walking through the door.

Like most Scend it home comps, this one came complete with some fun goodies. A bunch of new holds from the boys at Redpoint, a hanging box, a rope swing, and some volume trickery all seemed to keep competitors busy. In the end, the veteran, Chris DesVries powered his way to the win for the fellas (followed closely by Braden McCrea, Ryan Williams, and Nikita Taylor), while Heather Martin brought it home for the ladies with Jess Zotto not far behind.

Good work to all the competitors and we'll see y'all in the fall.
